Beatriz Blanco has been Cello Professor at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen since 2022.

She made her orchestral debut in 2004 with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León under the direction of Alejandro Posada, and has since performed with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Radio Televisión Española RTVE, the Sinfonieorchester Basel, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Argovia Philharmonic, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallés, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, and the Philharmonic Orchestra Plauen-Zwickau. She has also performed as a soloist in some of Europe’s most prestigious venues, including the Théâtre des Champs Élysées, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Stadtcasino Basel, Solitär Salzburg, Tonhalle Zürich, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Palau de la Música Catalana and L’Auditori in Barcelona, and the Palau de les Arts in Valencia.

She has won numerous awards, including prizes at the Antonio Janigro Competition in Zagreb, the Rahn Music Prize in Zurich, the Primer Palau Prize organized by the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, the Concurso Permanente de Jóvenes Intérpretes de España, and the Intercentros Melómano Interpretation Competition. She was also awarded third prize at the International Competition in Liezen, Austria, and the Young Artist Award from the Greenhause Foundation in California, USA. In 2015, her artistic achievements were recognized with Spain’s Racimo Arts Award.

Beatriz studied with Asier Polo (Musikene), Ivan Monighetti (Hochschule für Musik Basel), Clemens Hagen (Mozarteum University Salzburg), and Thomas Grossenbacher (Zurich University of the Arts).

Her discography includes the album A mon ami, featuring the complete works for cello and piano by Chopin and several previously unpublished works by Franchomme; Baroque Portrait, with Bach’s cello suites and two previously unrecorded sonatas by J.B. Barrière; and the 2020 album Of Love and War, which explores music related to the First World War.

She is the founder and artistic director of the Festival y Academia Ribeira Sacra, an international gathering of artists dedicated to performing and promoting chamber music in one of Galicia’s most beautiful regions.
